By far my biggest expense is my bill from Yorkshire Water. We are on a meter and our bill use to be around £20 a month. It’s now over £60 ! The drum filter fires up about once every 10 to 15 minutes and more if I disturb pond too much. I phoned Yorkshire water to see if there are any grants or allowances and they are sending me some forms to complete. Apparently your water bill includes a charge for sewerage per cubic litre. Because we are topping pond and it doesn’t go into sewer ( mainly) there may be a reduction in our bill. Has anyone got any experience of this sort of thing or any advice. Not on a meter Richard but I have heard people talking about something you can report to the water board and get some reduced charge, Sorry not sure what it is but sure some of our members will of
come across it ime sure.
I have just recieved a form to fill in from Yorkshire water regarding a rebate.
I'm on a water meter like yourself and I have applied for abit of a discount. Yorkshire water estimate that 90% of water usage goes into the sewer but I don't intend on putting any water down the sewer as I am going to use it around the garden which is heavily planted.
They have also mentioned on the form that someone could come out and assess the situation which I'm going to ask for . I'm also going to send them pics of my garden where I intend in spilling the waste water.
The more proof you can give them...the better, so Yorkshire water told me down the phone last week.
You will have 3 questions to answer and that is all....although you may well have to ring Yorkshire water to answer the first question like I had to.
I have also asked for a visit from Yorkshire water to prove that I'm not wasting water down the sewer.
