My pond has a pressure filter + a tower filter and 2 55w uva units = 600w or £2 a day elec consumption.
Would a different filter setup save £££?
I have a spare 100w pump which if I used with a bay filter would that not be better.
I'm not convinced by the pressure filter tbh.
Also has any one used a bog filter (please don't stone me!!)
Keep to make the pond more natural as at present its very clinical.
I might sell some of the bigger koi and get some mirror and common carp and even some roach and perch?!!!
I Will join the club and see a few other ponds for inspiration!
I guess when you inherit a pond then the features aren't as you would like at first.
And like the garden best to leave alone for a while and see what develops.
Still like to know what people think of the wattage is that normal. Could I turn off one of the pumps and run both the filters off one pump the water is quite fast moving for a pond like a slow river really!
Just needs some barbel!!!
All good fun!
Good advice Tony!
James I'm relatively new to the hobby my set up was a bit cumbersome to say the least.i now have a much better and cost effective set up all thanks to the club going on visits.opening my eyes to what everyone has installed and using.i now use variable pumps at low wattage and use a 40w submersible uv before I had 2 55w uv s.
