Can anyone tell me how I do this do I need a special adaptor black part at top of uv too small and I can get the bit you tighten on to sleeve at very top into 4 to inch and a half boot just it's very tight but I wouldn't be able to get in to maintain lamp without emptying whole drum any advice greatly appreciated I've attached a pic to show the boot I'm trying to install uv in

You can buy adaptors, but i just used the reducer. Its easy to empty the drum.Just shut the valve to pond, and keep the pump running. It will drain to the bottom of the outlet. You could always use a small pump to completely empty the drum but theres really no need.Bulb should last 2 years,so not a problem

Cheers so you just tighten boot to the fitting that tightens onto end its a tight fit in rubber boot don't suppose you've a picture have you I think I saw a fitting on coastal koi website looked like it had a black reducer as part of kit that fits on end of uv over the end that's just one inch so it fits into in boot here's a picture of kit I only need black adaptor if I'm correct hope it's ok showing a downloaded image

It will fit Dave. Warm the reducer up in hot water and slacken the jubilee clip off .If you pm your numberr i will send pics, but it is straightforward. The kit you have pictured requires a hole boring in your drum which i dont like the idea of.

Hiya,

You should be ok with the reducer like big h says.

The coastal fitting is for their aqua uv so it may not necessarily fit other manufacturers uv.

Here is a YouTube vid instructions on how to fit an amalgam uv to a drum, like big h says they have to be cut into the drum but a lot of combi supplies are just that...

Cheers I'd seen that but I'm not drilling a hole in drum I've got a spare outlet was going to try that

If you are coming on the Last Supper visits you can see my installation of an Amalgon UV. It is just like Sarg has given you in video demo installation.
