after a very traumatic 24 hrs in which I lost 17 out of 21 fish the messages of support and offers of fish I had is amazing the fish all died as a result of o2 starvation when we had an unexpected power failure plans are going on to prevent a reaccurance. not in a nice place at the mo but will recover

Gutted for you mate, do you mind me asking how long were they without O2
As there should have been plenty in the pond to keep them going for a while
There may have been other factors that contributed to their down fall also
Ie ammonia build up etc
It's a learning curve for us all mate

Paul so sorry to hear of this,a simple way to get round it would be to spray water from the hose.To avoid cooling the pond, get an extra o2 cylinder and connect to a large air disk.

I am so sorry to here of your fish loss. I know how awful it is having suffered losses from the mink attack I had last year. It just happens so quickly as well. I am sure that you will recover from this setback. If I can help in anyway please let me know.

Michael.

We had several power cutsat night last Feb when all are new stock were being heat ramped during quarantine what saved us we were running the Cloverleaf air pumps with battery back up and run for at least 8 hours if the power is off ,
Maybe something to look at

Battery backup might be essential in the future when the lights go out. As we continue to close power stations .

Paul,

Absolutly gutted to read this, as someone who loves his hobby and willing to offer support as much as you this must be devastating!

All the best mate!

Just getting started - excuse the daft questions!!!
